Privacy & Student Data
Accounting Path Academy is an independent educational resource operated as a free beta. This notice describes the current site, not a legal guarantee or external provider privacy policy.
What APA collects
New students provide a name, email address and passcode. Supabase authentication stores credentials securely as password hashes; APA cannot retrieve or email your original password. APA records learning activity, self-grades, notes, knowledge-check scores and optional contact-list consent. We do not ask students to submit client or employer confidential information.
Where it is stored
Online progress is stored in a Supabase student record restricted to the account owner by row-level database rules. APA staff who administer the hosting/database may have technical access. A cached copy may remain in the learner's browser. Offline desktop Academy progress stays in that browser's local storage, and is not automatically synchronized.
Email & consent
APA uses your email for registration and account administration. Occasional learning announcements require your separate opt-in. No promotional email service is currently enabled. To change consent or request deletion, contact APA at the address below.
Retention & deletion
Until a formal retention schedule is introduced, records are retained while the account operates or until a verified deletion request can be processed. For privacy, do not send passwords or confidential records in email. Progress backups contain names and notes: save them somewhere private. Third-party providers have independent policies.
Access limitations
During this early beta, email confirmation may be disabled; APA therefore does not independently verify email ownership. Reliable password-reset email is not yet configured. Contact APA Support with access concerns.
